Les Johnson Community Award

Do you know someone who “goes that extra mile” for others in their community? Would you like them to be recognised for all that they do? If so, read on…

We in Hastingleigh and Elmsted are very lucky in having so many people in the parish who put themselves out for others, and to mark this the Les Johnson Community Award is going to be made annually, in memory of Councillor Johnson. The Award pays tribute to Councillor Johnson, who served on Hastingleigh Parish Council and marks the affection and respect with which he is regarded.

The Community Award is for someone who has worked for the community and for the people. If you know of someone who has helped others, put themselves out, ‘gone the extra mile’, then please put them forward. Send nominations (in confidence) to the Hastingleigh Parish Clerk, Tracey Block (contact details below) or to any member of Hastingleigh Parish Council, by 30th April, saying why you think your nominee deserves the Award.

The winner will be chosen by Hastingleigh Parish Council, and the Award will be presented at the celebrations during the Coronation Weekend, 6th – 8th June 2023.

Please send your nomination to:
